Interfaith Gathering Tonight!
Do you love coming together with others to reflect and connect through stories and music?
Are you looking for some extra community as we prepare for the holiday next week?
Are you feeling like you could use some positive vibes and connection with others in our extended faith communities of the greater-Portsmouth area?
Are you looking to contribute to helping those in greater need with warm hats and mittens?
Have you heard about the interfaith Thanksgiving gathering taking place at the North Church in Downtown Portsmouth this evening?
Join Anne, Rob, Ashley, and Olin from SJC, along with Rabba Kaya Stern-Kaufman from Temple Israel Portsmouth, and members of many other interconnected faith communities from around our area as we come together to celebrate our community, our interconnectedness, our faith, and most importantly our collective gratitude through stories and songs. Bring new hats and mittens to add to a donation being taken up to help those in need!
Still not sure? Here what these participants have to say about what they’re excited for:
“I am delighted to participate in this wonderful event in which we will lift up and share our hearts of gratitude, as one beautiful tapestry of faith, here in Portsmouth. Please join me in song and story as we give thanks together for the many blessings of community.”
— Rabba Kaya Stern-Kaufman, Temple Israel Portsmouth
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to join with our friends from North Church in celebration of their 350th anniversary, and to be in community with members of our greater faith communities here in the Seacoast. It’s an important time to give thanks for our gifts and remember those in greater need than ourselves.”
— Reverend Anne Williamson, St. John’s Episcopal Church Portsmouth
“Ashley and I are really looking forward to getting outside the walls of SJC and bringing our music to a wider audience in the spirit of thanksgiving, and of the knitting together of our communities at large.”
— Olin Johannessen, St. John’s Episcopal Church Portsmouth
