Ever Blooming Easter

Alleluia, Alleluia we sing as we look upon an altar adorned with white lilies. These beautiful delicate blossoms, a symbol of the Resurrection, remain through Eastertide and when their season is finished, the Altar Guild places them in the back of the church for all to take.

Each year, for the past few, I have taken one and planted it along with the others scattered throughout my back yard garden. They are just put in the ground with Mother Nature to tend and nurture. The next spring, sprouts appear and when in early July they reach about a foot tall, the pods burst forth again with white blossoms.

Every time I look or walk outside, I’m connected to the congregations that sang on Easter morning, and to those whose memory or honor these beautiful flowers were given.
