Advent Day 2
A Box of Matches
Last year Advent started on Dec 1, so this gift worked out perfectly, as there were 32 matches in the box, one for each day in December and one for the new year. This year Advent starts on Nov 29th, but I still invite you to light a match each night and maybe do something like:
Give thanks for the day
Light a candle to meditate or pray
Reflect where God has been in your life that day
A positive thing that happened to you
Or whatever moves you.
May this be your light in the darkness of Advent.
Sidebar- sometimes the gift I give, which no one knows what it is except for my husband, connects to the sermon in such a way, I am amazed. Last year during Advent, Nathan and I were in a zone together beginning with this gift which tied, I mean perfectly tied, right into his sermon. We just kind of looked at each other. It was a goosebump moment. And then it happened again on the fourth Sunday of Advent. I am not the most religious person, but there are times when things can’t be a coincidence.
