3rd Sunday in Advent
A loaf of bread
Inspired by a part of Nathan’s sermon this year I wanted to give a loaf of bread for an Advent gift. Then reality hit and I realized baking 100 loaves of bread was not feasible. But with virtual Advent gift I can do it. The tradition of feeding those in need goes back a long way, hit link below for Nathan’s explanation, and this still happens at St. John’s with the Common Table and Gather. And we do always need to “feed” each. My gift for today is a loaf of bread to feed our “hunger” to have this horrible virus gone and our normal lives return, whatever that looks like to you. Then we can all break bread again at the alter rail, and maybe have a wonderful meal together in beautifully updated Thaxter Hall. Happy 3rd Sunday of Advent.
