Heal

The text from Holly’s Reflection:

Healing happens when we name what we are experiencing, lean into discomfort and accept and surrender to our current realities. In order to heal as we our experiencing collective grief in our world, we have to make ourselves vulnerable to one another, leaning into God who stands with us in the middle of the chaos.

Personally, I have found so much healing through creating art during this time. God is an amazingly creative God. Taking one look at nature or watching a sunset, God’s creativity is ever apparent. We are created in His image and thus made to be creative beings. I feel most connected through God and through the act of creating art. It is something I have found hard to explain but I believe He has called me to create in my life. To create with my life. And when I am pursuing my calling, I feel most connected with Him.

As I was thinking about pursuing healing this week, Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 came to mind. “There is a time for everything. And a season for everything under the Heavens. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to uproot. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build. A time to weep and a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to dance.” Healing encompasses all of us and it is a daily journey that takes time. Our world is changing and heading towards collective healing. There are days you need to cry. Days in which you need to grieve. And there are days in which you can laugh. You can smile. You can find joy and even perhaps dance.

I wanted to share with you all a dance that I improvised to the song “The Blessing.” A choreographer named Tara Olsen invited dancers all over the globe to improv and worship to this song. She then made a collective video of us all dancing “together.” You can view the full video at

May God wrap you in his loving arms. May He continue to reveal to you His provision and plan for your life. May you have a peace today that surpasses all understanding. And may you dance.
