Youth Music Wednesdays Begin Sept. 14

Dear SJC Families and Parents,

We are writing to bring you in on a new chapter of our Youth Music program here at St. John’s. As you know, we spent much of last year redefining how to operate a youth music program in the age of Covid-19, and now that we are a bit further along, we are ready to unveil our new offering for your musically inclined children, grades 3-12. We’ve learned that throughout the year, several of our SJC families are taking opportunities to travel during weekends, or spend time on the slopes, and we felt that offering a mid-week option for your child to participate in our musical offerings would be beneficial and appreciated, and most importantly, help your children and family to stay involved in their beloved music and theater programs. So, without further ado….

St. John's is proud to offer a special music program on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-5:00pm throughout the school year for children grades 3-12 who would like to participate in our music program throughout the year. Enrollment for our 2022 Fall Semester program is open!

The goals of this program will flex throughout the year and will at times be active in performing with our Elementary and Middle Choir School programs (which run in Portsmouth schools), performing our annual Christmas pageant, and our annual musical theater production!

Families do not need to be members of St. John's for their child to participate - all are welcome, so if you have friends in the area who are seeking opportunities for their child(ren) to be involved in a regular after school music program, please share this notice with them!

This free after-school music / singing / theater program is open to eager and enthusiastic students in grades 3-12. Older students will be given the opportunity to engage in leadership roles as well as featured performance roles. The program will run most Wednesday afternoons in Thaxter Hall at St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth.

While we do run a Choir School Program for Portsmouth elementary and middle school students, this Wednesday program at SJC is open to ALL families whose children would like to be part of our music program, regardless of where they attend school - a convenient option for families living outside of Portsmouth. All are welcome!

Caregivers interested in enrolling their student should fill out this enrollment form. If there is any information that you feel is sensitive, or perhaps unavailable, or should you have questions, please reach out directly to Ashley Wade at St. John's Episcopal Church.
