welcome

ushering ministry team

As we come upon the end of another program year together, we pause to behold the different ministries that thrived in our midst over the past months. Thank you for the love, care, time, and energy given to SJC ministries this year. Throughout June, we will highlight ministries and their leadership, culminating to "Gratitude Sunday" on July 2nd in the garden at Strawbery Banke.

A Note of Gratitude from Head Usher, Randy Carey:

I would like to take a moment to reflect as we wind down from another great St. John's program year for the Ushering Team. My words are not enough to express how grateful I am for the great team we had this year. We also added a few new ushers to the team, and it has been my pleasure and fun to serve with everyone on the team. Our main goal, as typically the first folks that people see as they enter the church on Sunday, is to convey us as a welcoming congregation and be a resource for those familiar and not familiar with our Sunday services and rituals during the Sunday services and occasional funerals. We are constantly looking at ways that we can improve how we "do" our services and also be better at how we serve the community. It has been my privilege to be a part of this weekly ministry and we look forward to looking ahead to September and continuing to add to the team in the future! Oh, I would also like to give a shout out to Tim Platt for his enthusiasm and availability in ringing the bells on Sunday to help our team on Sundays!
