Go

It’s NOW-TODAY-right where you are this minute. Lean in to that.

John 14:2-3 NIV

In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

To go, or to be going, can be scary and exciting at the same time. All of us have had to go to a new lifestyle since mid-March. Some people I’ve talked to have a lot of anxiety about this, others have experienced this as a “reset” to a harried life. Both are very true here in Richmond, VA where the fight against racial injustice is being lived out just blocks from our home.

Either way, I think moving forward, anticipating school, work, life in general, it is of utmost importance to remember who has gone before you. John 14:2-3 tells us that Jesus went ahead to prepare a place (permanent dwelling) in heaven for us. GOOD NEWS-we don’t have to die to experience what He has prepared for us. It’s NOW-TODAY-right where you are this minute. Lean in to that. Ask God what your response is suppose to be. Keep asking until you understand what is being shown to you. Still don’t understand- talk to a trusted person of faith-a friend, parent, mentor, pastor. They love you and would love to help you discern God’s call for you TO GO!
