A Vigil for the Victims of Racial Violence

  • St. John's Episcopal Church 101 Chapel St. Portsmouth NH (map)

The death of George Floyd in Minneapolis sparked a renewed awareness of the suffering of people of color in our country. To honor the lives of those killed by acts of racial violence, we invite you to stop by St. John’s between 7-9pm and make a luminary with the name of someone who has died, and offer prayers for that person and for our nation. We’ll provide a list of names to pray for, and all the necessary materials. We ask that you wear face masks and maintain social distance. We may not be able to gather for a vigil as a group, but the lights we leave will shine in solidarity with our black sisters and brothers.
