St. John’s Intergenerational Retreat

BUILDING WHOLE-HEARTED COMMUNITY

with The Rev. Callie Swanlund

Sunday, September 29, 2024, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Each year St. John’s sets aside a weekend in September to come together as a community to invite deeper reflection and connection within our community and get to know friends new and old.

The 2024 All Parish Gathering will take place on Sunday, September 29th from 9:00AM-6:00PM* here at St. John’s Church.

Through joyful worship, regenerative activities and conversations with friends, we will dive deeper into what it means to build a whole-hearted community reflecting Christ's teachings of love and compassion.

We will begin and end by being fed: first with combined worship and a shared meal at Christ's table, and concluding our day with music and dinner in true St. John’s style. In between, The Rev. Callie Swanlund--retreat leader, writer, and spiritual companion, who helps others know their belovedness and find their Spark--will guide us in connecting wholeheartedly with God, ourselves, and one another. Retreat means "time set apart" and the day will be nourishing, fun, and interactive for all.

All ages will gather together for worship and the opening and closing sessions, then midday youth ages 4-18 will have the opportunity to participate in St. John’s first ever Artapoalooza, where we will create big, colorful, joyful artwork as a prayer for this community and the world.

Creating this space allows for parents and caregivers to discover and experience a retreat of their own alongside other adults from St. John’s.

Throughout the retreat Callie will draw on the wisdom of Jesus and Brené Brown, and we're sure to leave feeling refreshed and connected. You are invited to participate in some or all of the retreat.
