Have you ever wondered where the ashes come from for Ash Wednesday? Well, its not from the Rector’s fireplace. One wonderful tradition of the church is that we take the Palms from the previous Palm Sunday and burn them to make the ashes for Ash Wednesday. It is a simple way of connecting one Holy week to the next.

I invite you to bring any palms that you may have (don’t worry if you don’t have any…we have plenty) and join me on the patio at 9:30 on March 2nd when we will practice this ancient tradition. I hope to see you all there.
