Listen

Deeper Knowing
—————————
On the surface
I see contrast clearly
Between black and white
And carry associations,
Barely wondering about grey

A small, still voice
From where I know not
Extends an invitation
To explore other contrasts,
At deeper levels

It starts with loving
Light and evil Dark
A strict good and bad
Yet keeps asking,
Anything in between?

What do I find in the Dark
Of prayerful meditation
Previously unknown
Affections and distortions,
Blending and separating

What do I see in the Light
As I observe others around me
Partially known, curious about
Similarities and differences,
Attempting to connect or not

If I can learn about
Mixtures in my Dark and
Those of others sharing the Light
Are we possibly alike, yet
Not consciously deeper?

What if a Holy source embedded
A beloved DNA in each and everyone
Would sensed kindness help me to
Claim my unconsciousness grey, and
Consciously know the grey held by Others?
