Blessings

Aaron's sermon resonated with me in such a deep way this past Sunday. We had the enormous pleasure to provide the reception for our dear Anne Rehner's funeral. Because Anne was so beloved by so many, we knew it would be a large gathering. We reached out to our Common Table crew to help since Lew Rehner is such an integral part of this program. They never disappoint. Along with the many in our community who provided food, they also volunteered to do the clean up. Since our receptions committee has a mean age of almost 80, this meant the world to us.

Of course Anne's service was one of the most unusual I have ever  attended with two standing ovations included. WHO DOES THAT? We do  at St. John's. There was joy and laughter that lightened our difficult goodbyes to a woman who was so loved.

When I headed home all I could think of was how blessed I was to belong to such a caring community. I hope each and every one of you who contributed knows that I send blessings on you. My heart was filled with love for this remarkable church.

Blessings to you on this day.
