A Weekend of Love in Portsmouth

Friday, Noon- 5pm: Love Blooms Here

In response to the Feb. 21 hate motivated crimes that affected multiple downtown Portsmouth businesses and Houses of Worship, a group of local non-profits have banded together to create Love Blooms Here.

On Friday, Feb. 24, all interested parties with love in their hearts are invited to meet at Cup of Joe Café and Bar, 31 Market Street, Portsmouth, starting at noon to pick up donated stems and hand deliver them to the affected businesses and the place of worship. Flowers will be handed out until the supply runs out. The simple act of delivering something beautiful where hate was recently graffitied, cannot take the hate away, but the organizers aim to place hope in its place.

Sunday, 3:30-4:30pm: Community Gathering for Love

Temple Israel, 200 State Street, Portsmouth

All are welcome to this community circle, open mic, to share words, music, song and prayer as we lift up the loving and inclusive values of our Seacoast community. Together we will weave an energetic quilt of love and friendship. Bring your open heart and if so moved, a spoken or musical offering.
