The Rev. AARON B. JENKYN
i love the world
The Rev. Aaron Jenkyn preaches on the Gospel of John 3:14-21.
What does an atheist, a pharisee and Jesus have to teach about how to grow in faith and how to talk about what we believe with those we love?
In Sunday’s sermon Aaron reflects on the work of chaplains to help others make meaning during challenging times and the unexpected and beautiful ways God shows up in that work. Conversations about faith and belief, even with those who are very different from us, can help us to grow and shape our experience of God, but how do we have those conversations when we have been taught not to talk about religion and politics?
When we let go of how we think these conversations should go, when we let go of the language and expectation and condemnation, and approach conversations about spirituality and meaning with openness, curiosity and love, we might just find that it is our own hearts and minds, and knowledge of God that grows.
