BUILDING HOPE: An Awesome Project to Support

The Building Hope Project is about building hope in our community by caring for the environment, the people and the buildings of St. John’s. The money we raise will be used to buy solar panels to put on our roof, and help make our buildings more environmentally friendly and accessible for all people.

Solar panels are important to put on the church because they are a better choice of energy, are cleaner, and better for the environment. As a kid, I know how bad the pollution problem is and how unhealthy the earth is, most kids understand this, and we also know that even though we didn’t cause this problem we have to be part of the solution. Some people think that you can’t do anything about it and you should leave it to the professionals, but actually YOU can help the earth no matter who you are. This project is one way you can help!

I think that making our buildings more accessible is important because a lot of people at church are older and some need to use a wheelchair or a walker. Making our building more accessible means that the people who need a wheel chair or a walker or help in other ways can be there just like the rest of us. It wouldn’t be the same if they couldn’t be there, our community would just feel different and I don’t think I would like it. It feels less whole when some people can't be there.

Please give as much as you can (even if it is is a little) because every amount helps us get closer to our goal ($20,000). This project is not just good for the environment and for the community, but it’s also good for your heart because it is the right thing to do.

With hope,
