Taking the Egg Hunt to New Levels

The Easter Giving Eggs

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9

Listening for God’s call

In 2022, a new twist on an old tradition began — an Easter Egg Hunt in the church yard aimed to be fun, reduce plastic waste, and help children connect with causes they care about. This year, on Sunday, April 20 after the 9:15 Easter Sunday service, children will again hunt for decorated wooden eggs. Afterward, the Kids' Giving Celebration will take place.

Thanks to the St. John’s community, the eggs raised over $2000 in 2024. Our children choose causes to support, such as Environment & Creation Care, Hunger & Feeding People, and Global Humanitarian Aid. In the past, funds raised were donated to Gather Food Pantry, the Episcopal Relief Fund, and Kittery Land Trust.

In our continued efforts to support righteous causes around our communities, we’re again inviting community members to SPONSOR AN EGG! Your donation will increase the value of the Easter eggs, with 100% of gifts going to selected organizations for 2025, to be announced during Easter season. Suggested donations begin at $5, but any amount helps! Let's set some new participation benchmarks here, and all pitch in what we can to support the good work happening in our community.

Our hope is that families feel invited to something meaningful, and children feel cherished and empowered. Donate today to sponsor an egg and help sustain this beautiful St. John's Easter tradition. Donations can be made in person by check or cash (marked for Easter Eggs) or via the button below.
