Dear St. John’s Family,
It is with great joy that I announce we have a plan and a date to regather as a community. Thank you for all your continued prayer, love, and support of our beloved community during the past 14 months. A heartfelt thank you to the Regathering Team and the Vestry for their steady leadership during this unprecedented time. Here is the plan:
On June 6, 2021 the following schedule will commence:
8am Rite I Holy Eucharist in the church: We will have a ‘sign-in station’ to enable contact tracing, wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. The Eucharist will be received “in one kind” (bread only).
9:30am Rite II Holy Eucharist with hymns on the Goodwin Lawn at Strawbery Banke: We are thrilled to have access to this incredible space. Similarly, to the Rite I service, parishioners will be required to sign-in, wear masks, social distance, and will receive the Eucharist “in one kind”. Please bring your own chairs. This service will include offerings for our children as well.
OnDemand weekly virtual option: Thank you to Ashley Wade, Jen McPherson and Olin Johannessen for making a tough situation not just bearable, but excellent and joyous. Their efforts will continue.
The 3-pronged approach set forth will hopefully allow us to continue to welcome ALL. We all have different comfort levels, and this plan will allow each of us to participate in a full and meaningful way while respecting our different levels of comfort.
To say that I am excited is an understatement. While this is our plan today, I am sure that it will look somewhat different by the end of the summer. Flexibility and kindness continue to be the key words that I encourage all of us to live by. I love you and look forward to seeing you in church!
Stay tuned for more details as June 6th approaches.
Below is a survey that will help us to plan accordingly & give us an idea of what to expect regarding attendance. Thank you.
Faithfully, your Rector,
Rob
