This Sunday, 3 of our youth group members will participate in the Rite 13 ceremony. It's a momentous occasion for both these young people and our church!
The Rite 13 ceremony marks the passage from childhood towards adulthood. It recognizes what is already occurring-- these young people are growing up! They are moving into a next stage of growth and we, as their faith community, vow to be alongside them.
Rite 13 is different than Confirmation and can be considered a complement to Confirmation. It is about acknowledging that God's love goes with these adolescents as they navigate the unpredictable times ahead. We all remember how challenging being a teenager can be! During this ceremony we celebrate a God that accompanies us through our toughest times and a community that perseveres.
Join us this weekend to hold space for these adolescents at their Rite 13 ceremony.
