Wrapped in the Arms of Community
When I was asked to coordinate the setup and feeding during the soup suppers this Lent, I said "Yes", but I wondered if I could really do it. I could, but not alone. So many people were generous with their resources and time that I can't remember them all. And I must confess, that even if it looked like I was doing a lot of work, I wasn't. There were so many people stepping in to help in that I actually enjoyed taking care of my St. Johns Family. What is the lesson in this: Ask for help before you need it? St. Johns has wonderful people? No man is an island? OK - this is a reflection, not a sermon. But I did feel completely wrapped in the arms of my St. John's family.
