Celebrate the Feast of All Saints at St. John’s

Join us on Sunday, November 3, for a service of reflection, celebration, and remembrance as we observe the Feast of All Saints. This annual tradition is a time to honor the lives of saints—both known and unknown—who have shaped our lives through love, justice, and courage. Through prayer, scripture, and music, we gather to celebrate the sacred connection we share with all people, past and present.

Service Schedule:

  • Rite 1 Holy Eucharist – 8 AM

  • Rite 2 Holy Eucharist with Baptisms – 10 AM*

  • Evening Choral Eucharist – 5 PM

*Youth & Children's programs at 9:30

The two morning services will live-stream on our YouTube channel, and the evening choral eucharist will be offered as a radio broadcast.

The morning services, especially the 10 AM with choir and music, will focus on joy and celebration as we honor all our saints. The evening Choral Eucharist, however, invites a more contemplative tone—a chance to connect deeply with themes of loss, memory, and gratitude. The names of our departed loved ones (Necrology) will be chanted or read at each service.

A Time for Reflection and Connection

Evening Choral Eucharist

The traditional All Saints service is both a remembrance and a celebration. The Rev. Aaron Jenkyn reminds us that “on All Saints Day, we remember those who have shaped us, celebrating the blessings of their lives and the divine connection we all share.” It’s a time to reflect on the legacy of those who came before us and to answer the call to bless those around us with love that transcends time.

In a unique way, the evening Choral Eucharist will offer a Requiem-inspired experience. As Olin Johannessen describes, the Requiem Mass, traditionally an order of service to honor the dead, has inspired centuries of composers to create beautiful, powerful music. This year, rather than performing a single composer’s work, our Parish Choir has drawn on diverse choral pieces that span cultural and historical backgrounds. These selections highlight the richness of the Requiem tradition while inviting us to feel both the sorrow and the grace of remembering.

Through these carefully chosen pieces, we hope to create a space where each of us can reflect on feelings of longing and loss, of grief and gratitude, and of connection to all saints, past and present. Whether you attend in the morning or evening, we welcome you to join us in this sacred observance.

We hope you’ll join us as we honor, remember, and celebrate together.
